About this collection
Each PDF is free. You enter $0 at Payhip checkout, and Payhip emails you the file. Eight stencils, one at a time. Pick the one you want and it arrives by email right away. If you feel like chipping in a couple of dollars you can, and if you don't, that is fine too. Nothing here is a trial or a cut down version of something better.
They are built the same way as everything else in the shop: bold lines, thick bridges, and nothing that falls out. Most of them are rated easy, which makes this a good place to start if you have never carved from a pattern before, or if a kid is doing the tracing and you are on knife duty.
Every download comes with the same instruction and tips pages the paid sets ship with, plus a one page history of the jack o lantern. Print at home on plain paper, tape it on, and start poking.
Common questions
Are these really free?
Yes. Enter $0 at checkout on Payhip and the PDF is yours. You can pay a couple of dollars if you want to, but you never have to.
Why do I go through a checkout for a free stencil?
Payhip is the shop that delivers every download on this site, free or paid. Checkout is how it sends you the file and keeps it in your library so you can download it again next October.
Do I need an account?
No. Payhip asks for an email address so it can send you the file.
Which one is easiest?
The bat and the dinosaur are one solid shape each, so they are the gentlest start. Ghoulish Grin and Jesus Is King are the two rated medium.

How these are made
Built for the knife, not the screen
A pumpkin is a wet, round, uncooperative vegetable. A pattern with skinny lines and floating pieces falls apart around 9 p.m. on October 30th, right when the kids are watching. So the lines here are bold, the bridges are thick, and nothing floats loose.
Every listing says how hard it carves, easy to hard, and it means what it says. Each design prints one to a page, and your printer's scale setting fits it to the pumpkin you actually brought home. Print it, tape it, poke it, carve it, then keep the file for next year.
